Mary Anne's Wannigan traditional soap
Mary Anne's Wannigan traditional soap

Our Mary Anne’s Wannigan traditional soap is one of our beloved originals!
A wanigan or wannigan was a shelter with a mounted cookshack, bunkhouse, and storage space used by loggers. We were inspired by the river wannigans, a barge-like boat that log drivers steered downstream to transport logs to sawmills. Oftentimes, the women would sell soap, tobacco, and other goods as the crew made their way down river -- the threat of forest fires, log jams, and timber pirates looming about.
Made in small batches using local cold-pressed safflower oil, local whole cow milk, lye, essential oils* (juniper berry + cedarwood), and dried blue cornflowers.
